Swiggy Instamart delivery partner salary and how to join

Instamart orders are delivered by Swiggy’s own delivery partners, so you join Swiggy, not Instamart. Swiggy has advertised earnings of up to ₹30,000 a month and insurance of up to ₹12 lakh for the rider and family (June 2025). Swiggy does not publish a rider pay page or document list. Apply only through swiggy.com or the rider app Swiggy publishes.

How much does an Instamart delivery partner earn?

Swiggy publishes no typical monthly pay, only an advertised upper figure.

None of these figures is guaranteed. Take-home pay depends on your hours, city, incentives, fuel and vehicle costs, and nobody publishes a typical figure after costs.

How Instamart delivery pay works

Swiggy has not published how it works out rider pay. Before you start, ask Swiggy for:

The rate per order, and whether it changes with distance, weight or time of day
Incentive targets: how many orders, in which hours, and what you get for hitting them
When pay reaches your bank account, and whether there is any minimum payout per day
Every deduction: uniform, bag, joining or training fee, penalties

How to join Instamart as a delivery partner

Look for the delivery partner link on swiggy.com, and download only the rider app that Swiggy itself publishes. There is no separate Instamart rider sign-up.
Keep your documents ready.
Complete the background check and training. Ask which store you will be attached to and which shifts are open.
Read the pay terms in the app before your first shift: the per-order rate, distance and weight extras, incentive targets and any deductions.
Check that your details are on the government’s e-Shram portal, so you can claim gig-worker benefits.

Documents you need to become an Instamart delivery partner

Swiggy does not publish a document list. Blinkit’s published list is a fair guide to what quick-delivery apps ask riders for:

18 years or older
Your own two-wheeler
An Android phone with internet
Driving licence, vehicle RC and vehicle insurance
PAN card
Address proof and an active bank account

What an Instamart delivery shift is like

Riders are usually attached to one store. You log in on the rider app near the store, the store team picks and packs each order, and you collect the bag and ride it to a customer close by. Then you head back for the next order.

Because pay is mostly per order, what you earn in a shift depends on how many orders come in. Ask Swiggy which hours are busiest at your Instamart store, what happens if you log out early, and whether you can choose your own hours or must book fixed slots.

Insurance and social security for Instamart riders

Swiggy says it provides insurance of up to ₹12 lakh for the delivery partner and family (June 2025).

The national Code on Social Security adds a government benefit scheme on top of any company cover, and Karnataka and Telangana have their own gig-worker laws on notice, pay and deductions that apply to Instamart riders too (Instamart has 198 stores in Karnataka and 121 stores in Telangana). How to avoid fake Instamart delivery job offers

Fake delivery-job sites use app names to collect “registration” fees. In August 2025 the Delhi High Court ordered fake Zepto job sites such as zeptojob.com and zeptojobs.in taken down. Never pay a person or a personal UPI ID for a job, and report job fraud on 1930 or at cybercrime.gov.in.
