Tamil Nadu has 587 dark stores across 22 cities and towns, the sixth-most of any state. Chennai has 74% of them, and every major app runs stores there.

The three biggest cities hold 84.8% of the state’s dark stores between them. In Chennai, Zepto has about 22.2% of the city’s dark stores. In 5 of the 22 Tamil Nadu cities and towns, only one or two apps deliver.

Coimbatore is the clear second city, followed by Madurai, Tiruchirappalli, Vellore and Tiruppur. Chennai’s southern suburbs, such as Nandivaram Guduvancheri and Mahindra World City, have their own pages as separate towns. Hosur, next to Bengaluru, has its own stores too.

Which quick delivery apps deliver in Tamil Nadu

Tamil Nadu is one of the few states where Swiggy Instamart is the strongest app, with more stores and cities than any rival. Blinkit and Zepto follow. BigBasket BB Now is in only a few cities, and in southern towns such as Tirunelveli and Thoothukudi, Instamart is often the only choice.
