Quick delivery apps and dark stores in Maharashtra
Updated October 2026
Maharashtra has 1,245 dark stores across 40 cities and towns, more than any other state. Mumbai and Pune hold the bulk of them, and both cities have every major app, so most people in either city can pick between several apps for the same order.
- Blinkit 366 29%
- Zepto 237 19%
- Instamart 204 16%
- BB Now 148 12%
- Flipkart Minutes 155 12%

Dark stores in Maharashtra by city
The three biggest cities hold 68.6% of the state’s dark stores between them. In Mumbai, Blinkit has about 28.5% of the city’s dark stores. In 22 of the 40 Maharashtra cities and towns, only one or two apps deliver.
Beyond the two big cities, the Mumbai Metropolitan Region carries most of the rest: Navi Mumbai, Thane, Vasai Virar, Dombivli and Kalyan. Nagpur, Nashik and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar are the largest markets away from Mumbai and Pune. In smaller towns from Solapur to Ratnagiri, Blinkit is still the only dark-store app.

Which quick delivery apps deliver in Maharashtra
Blinkit has the widest spread. Zepto is the next biggest network and is concentrated in Mumbai, Pune and the towns around them. Swiggy Instamart, BigBasket BB Now and Flipkart Minutes all run large networks in the same metro belt, which is why delivery choice drops sharply once you leave it.

Tips for ordering in Maharashtra
- In Mumbai and Pune, price the same basket on two or three apps. Fees and delivery slots differ more than item prices do.
- In gated societies in Thane, Navi Mumbai and Pune, many riders are stopped at the gate. Ask your society office whether riders may come up to the flat, because a 10-minute promise rarely survives a walk from the gate.
